Silkeborg IF has taken an active role in the transfer market ahead of the 2024–25 Danish Superliga
campaign, making key signings aimed at reinforcing the team across multiple positions. The club is clearly positioning itself to compete more effectively in the upcoming season.
One of the most notable additions is Sofus Berger, who joined from Viborg FF on February 1, 2025. The
versatile midfielder signed a contract through 2028 and is expected to bring creativity and balance to Silkeborg’s midfield options.
Alexander Simmelhack, a forward signed from FC Copenhagen for €350,000, made an immediate impression by scoring in his debut match against Vejle. Similarly, Mads Freundlich, acquired from Hobro IK
for €535,000, has already contributed to the team by netting his first goal in November.
Veteran defender Rasmus Thelander also joined the squad from AaB, though his time was short-lived as he transferred to Lyngby BK in early 2025.
On the departures side, Oliver Sonne‘s €3 million move to English club Burnley in January stands out as a significant transaction for both player and club.
With these changes, Silkeborg appears committed to building a competitive side capable of making a strong impact this season
