Denmark. The club was established on July 23, 1924, following the merger of Esbjerg Boldklub af 1898 and
Esbjerg Amatørklub af 1911. Their home matches are played at the Blue Water Arena, which can accommodate up to 16,942 spectators.
The club enjoyed its most successful period during the 1960s, securing five Danish league titles in 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965, and 1979, as well as a Danish Cup victory in 1964. This golden era was guided by Austrian
coach Rudi Strittich and featured standout players such as Jens Peter Hansen and Carl Emil Christiansen.
In more recent times, Esbjerg fB experienced setbacks, including relegation to the Danish 1st Division in
2011. Nevertheless, they bounced back in the 2012–13 season with a return to the Superliga and added a third Danish Cup title to their record.
A major transition occurred in May 2024 when the club shifted from foreign to local ownership. Despite receiving a three-point penalty, Esbjerg secured promotion to the 1st Division with three games to spare,
highlighted by a commanding 6–0 win over Akademisk Boldklub on May 31, 2024.
Now led by head coach Lars Lungi Sørensen, Esbjerg fB is focused on revitalizing the club through youth development and strong community ties. Their local identity and supporter loyalty continue to be central to their mission.
