Drake Maye vs. Josh Allen was hyped as one of the best quarterback showdowns of the week, but through one half, Maye has completely stolen the show. The Patriots lead the Bills 24-7 behind two Maye rushing touchdowns as well as a long TreVeyon Henderson burst.
As a reminder, the Patriots clinch the AFC East with a win, and it’s so far, so good in that regard.
There’s very little Maye hasn’t done. The Patriots took the opening drive of the game 73 yards across eight plays, with Maye snaking up the left sideline from 8 yards away to cap it.
Maye started the Patriots’ third drive by turning a near-sack into a 17-yard scramble, and he ended it with a 7-yard sprint, this time up the middle.
Then came the big one: a 52-yarder from Henderson, who hit the hole and was gone, leaving a host of defenders in his wake.
Overall, Maye is 9 for 11 for 108 yards, and he has 43 yards on the ground. New England is out-gaining Buffalo 285-76.
The Bills were able to nab a late touchdown via an Allen swing pass to James Cook, but overall, Buffalo’s offense has been disjointed. Allen is just 6 for 8 for 35 yards, and he has taken two sacks. Plus, the Patriots got a field goal as time expired.
Keep it locked right here as we take you through the second half!
