ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior nose guard Landon Robinson has been named a First- Team All-American by both Sports Illustrated and USA Today.  Robinson is the first Navy player to be named a First-Team All-American in 40 years (Napoleon McCallum in 1985) and the first defensive player in 50 years (Chet Moeller in 1975).

Robinson, who was named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Year earlier this year, has recorded 54 tackles, a team-high 8.5 tackles for a loss, a team-high 6.5 sacks and a team-high seven hurries for the Mids this season. He leads the American in sacks per game, which is highly unusual for an interior defensive player.

Robinson was the only player from a Non-Autonomy Four conference to make first team on either list at any position.

David Bailey (Texas Tech), Cashius Howell (Texas A&M) and Kayden McDonald (Ohio State) joined Robinson on as First-Team All-Americans on both lists.

Robinson, who came to Navy as a linebacker, is known for his prolific strength as he has been named to Bruce Feldman’s (The Athletic) Freaks List three times in his career.

Robinson squats 700lbs, benches 465lbs, power cleans 350lbs, has a 33-inch vertical and has run a top speed of 20.13mph according to Catapult. He was ranked #13 on Feldman’s Freaks List for 2025.

Robinson dominated last year’s Army-Navy game, recording a career-high 13 tackles and was Navy’s third-leading rusher with 29 yards on a fake punt, as Navy won the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy with a 31-13 win.

Earlier this year, he had seven tackles, 1.5 sacks and recovered his first-career fumble in Navy’s 34-31 win over Air Force.

Robinson was named one of seven semifinalists for the Outland Trophy and was one of only two defensive linemen to be named a finalist.

#22 / #25 Navy will play Army tomorrow in the greatest rivalry in all of sports, the 126th playing of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA. TV coverage begins at 12 noon on CBS Sports Network before moving to CBS at 2:30 PM. Kickoff is set for 3:10 PM.

Saturday’s game will also be broadcast nationally by Westwood One Radio to more than 350 stations across the country and the Navy Radio Network.  WBAL Radio, the flagship home of Navy football, will air a two-hour special on Friday from 4:00-6:00 PM and will have a three-hour pregame show on Saturday from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM before the network takes over for a one-hour pregame show.
