Fabio Vieira Hits Double Figures in Goal Contributions During Porto’s Comeback Win
Fabio Vieira continued his strong form on loan at FC Porto by recording his 10th direct goal contribution of the season in a 3-1 comeback victory over Moreirense on Friday night. The midfielder, currently on loan from Arsenal, played a key role in turning the tide of the match after Porto initially fell behind.
Moreirense took an early lead through Yan Maranhao, putting Porto under pressure in their pursuit of a top-three finish. However, Vieira helped restore momentum for the home side just before half-time. In the 40th minute, he delivered an accurate cross from his weaker right foot to the far post, where Francisco Moura was well-positioned to head in the equaliser.
Porto capitalised on that shift in momentum by scoring twice more in the second half, sealing a crucial win. The result lifted them into third place in the Primeira Liga, ahead of SC Braga on goal difference following Braga’s draw with Santa Clara on Saturday.
With five goals and five assists this season, Vieira has now reached double digits in combined goal involvements. The 24-year-old has established himself as a regular starter in recent weeks and will aim to play a decisive role as Porto look to secure Europa League qualification in their remaining two matches.
