Notre Dame made what may out to be a crucial decision for its 2026 recruiting class on a day mostly designated for prospects in the Class of 2027. On Pot of Gold Day, the Irish made an offer to 2026 Massachusetts defensive lineman Marcus Almada in addition to dozens of 2027 prospects.
The Tabor Academy standout was interviewed by defensive line coach Al Washington on Monday. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound athlete told Irish Sports Daily, “He just said he saw my film, and he loved the way I moved for my size, the way I can move with my frame, and how quick my feet are.” They adore my style of play, but they also seek out individuals who share the values of the school where I attend: independence and responsibility.

Everything Notre Dame possesses that contributes to its excellence as a program and organisation. In order to bring Almada to South Bend, maybe for several journeys, Washington is moving swiftly.
Almada stated, “Coach Washington stated that he will attempt to send me a few dates to try to make it up to campus.” “For now, just kind of move forward, get on campus, see everything, and see how I like it.” “I’m definitely going to try to come down for an official visit.” He has already scheduled official trips to Syracuse, Oklahoma State, and Kentucky. He is aware of the qualities he wants in a school.
