The veteran big man will be hitting free agency next summer as an unrestricted free agent. In the meantime, Chicago might decide to trade him this summer to get the best possible return before he departs.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report recently floated a trade idea on June 5, proposing that the Bulls send Nikola Vucevic to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga. Bailey believes that taking on Kuminga’s next contract would be worthwhile, as he’s still only 22 and could bring an exciting finishing touch to lineups featuring Josh Giddey. Bailey noted that the potential of lineups with Kuminga, Giddey, Matas Buzelis, and Coby White would surpass any involving Vucevic or Lonzo Ball. With some of the Bulls’ younger players already progressing well, Bailey argues this would be an ideal time for Chicago to take a swing on a high-upside prospect like Kuminga.
