The Atlanta Falcons always seem to show up when you least expect it. That was the case during the team’s 29-28 comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. With nothing to play for other than pride, the Falcons overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.
Tight end Kyle Pitts put the team on his back with an 11-catch, 166-yard, three-touchdown performance. Kirk Cousins passed for a season-high 373 yards and three touchdowns with zero turnovers. Rookie James Pearce Jr. recorded two more sacks to bring his season total up to eight.
Plus, the Falcons committed a franchise-record 19 penalties and still found a way to win. Fans were truly shocked by what they saw on Thursday night. The Bucs are in a playoff race and somehow lost to the most inconsistent team in the NFC South.
Head coach Todd Bowles even lost his cool during his post-game press conference. Check out how fans and analysts from around the NFL reacted to the Falcons’ prime-time win over Tampa Bay below.
