including an 18–2 record in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. Despite their success, Clemson will return just four players next season, marking a near-complete roster overhaul that will test the program’s resilience and adaptability.
Leading the Tigers into this new era is Brownell, who has become the winningest coach in school history with a 292–196 record. Recognizing his contributions, Clemson University awarded Brownell a six-year contract
extension through the 2030–31 season, worth a reported $27.5 million. The extension affirms the university’s confidence in his ability to guide the program through its evolving landscape.
With the majority of last season’s roster departing due to graduation, the NBA draft, and the transfer portal, Clemson has been proactive in rebuilding its squad. Among the most notable additions is Jestin Porter, a
high-scoring guard from Middle Tennessee State, expected to bring immediate offensive firepower. The Tigers have also added Jake Wahlin, a versatile forward from Utah, and an experienced guard from UAB to
round out the transfer class. These acquisitions signal Clemson’s commitment to staying competitive despite the roster turnover.
The road ahead will not be easy. The 2025–26 season will feature a newly adjusted 18-game ACC schedule, adding further complexity to the Tigers’ campaign. Clemson will maintain its traditional rivalry with Georgia
Tech and face Pittsburgh in a home-and-home series. Notably, the Tigers will travel cross-country to face both California and Stanford — a reversal from last season when those teams visited Littlejohn Coliseum.
While the turnover presents challenges, Brownell and his staff are focused on maintaining the momentum of the 2024–25 season. Their goal is clear: to build a cohesive, competitive team that can continue to elevate
Clemson’s status in the national college basketball landscape. Though the roster will look very different, the expectations remain high.
With a revamped team and a demanding schedule, all eyes will be on how Clemson adapts. Whether the Tigers can recapture their historic form remains to be seen, but under Brownell’s seasoned leadership, they are poised to fight for their place at the top of the ACC.
