Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is unsure whether Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui will feature against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night as the Africa Cup of Nations looms closer.
Amorim previously mentioned that United were in negotiations with the respective countries of Mbeumo, Diallo and Mazraoui to prolong their stay at the club before the African showpiece.
United’s match against Bournemouth falls on the deadline day put in place by FIFA for African players to report for AFCON duty, after which the original date was pushed forward another week.
“We are waiting until the last moment to have all the players available to choose the best team to start the game,’ Amorim said, as per the Daily Mail.
“I expect to have a decision today or maybe tomorrow.
“Every national team has their ideas about when they want the players. I don’t know if it’s going to be the same situation (with each player). It depends on the games.
“It’s frustrating but at the same time nobody knows who is going to play. So it’s a good thing, I think. We have players to cope with everything, and with a long week you can see a lot of things to prepare the game and any situation.”
