With a strong sense of purpose, Brad Binder heads into the Aragon Grand Prix with the intention of catching up to the leading riders. The South African KTM racer discussed his plans and expectations for this weekend while he was back at the Spanish circuit.
“I’m happy to be back in Aragon,” he exclaimed. The way that plays out will be interesting to see because a lot has changed since 2022. There are numerous tire alternatives available here, and it’s important to consider the new asphalt. This place holds fond memories for me, and I have always enjoyed jogging on this track.
Binder knows he needs to put in more effort to close the gap with the leaders after placing fifth in Austria. “Go faster, but ‘how’ is the big question,” he bluntly said when asked how to close this gap.Now that we’ve had time to consider the race, it’s time to consider how we can improve. I genuinely felt like I gave it everything I had that day, but I know I can still improve.
Brad Binder: “I don’t know when we will test what Pol Espargaró used, but there is definitely potential.”
Brad Binder also mentioned the performance of Pol Espargaro, a teammate who has shown hopeful signals by running a different configuration on his KTM RC16.He said, “I know he had something different from us, and it’s very positive.” while I compared my statistics with his, I could see that he was finishing the race with a higher level of efficiency while emerging from the corners.
“This is exactly one of the aspects we are seeking to improve,” he continues. Though there is undoubtedly potential, it is crucial to remember that any advancement in one area may result in compromises in another.
In closing, the South African pilot emphasized the significance of testing the new solutions that I will espargaro had implemented: “I’m not sure what Pol used, but they work well in the team. We will test that soon.” Brad Binder is prepared to take on the MotoGP challenge in Aragon with a deliberate approach and a never-ending drive for progress in the hopes of drawing a little bit closer to the leaders of the championship.
