Brad Binder is sixth in the championship standings when he gets at the Assen Grand Prix. The cyclist from South Africa is hoping to improve on his poor results from previous races this coming weekend in the Netherlands.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider discussed his trip over the three-week break prior to the race in Assen as well as his plans for this weekend during a debriefing.
Having an extra week off was pleasant. It has been a while, but yes, I have returned to South Africa for the first time since the test. Yes, I am delighted to be back in Assen. It’s wonderful to come home for a bit and do a little reset. It seems like we will have a pleasant weekend ahead of us. Hopefully, the good weather continues. I believe we’ll succeed.I think, to be honest, this is a track that’s worked well for us in the past. It was always a little tricky at the beginning, but over the weekends I’ve always found speed, so hopefully this weekend I can start fast right from the start, which would be great, but other than that I’m ready. Last year we did really well here, and the year before wasn’t too bad either, I think I came fifth. It will be fantastic to return to the podium and it’s time to have a good weekend.
Regarding KTM’s 2025 signings, he continued, saying, “I think it’s always interesting for us, and especially for me, because there’s someone coming out of a factory Aprilia and Ducati.” With all of this expertise, we may gain a clear understanding of our strengths and areas for improvement. Having it is a delight, and certainly, I’m eager to see how things work out.
