Brad Binder clarifies the issues with the Silverstone starting grid
The British MotoGP of Brad Binder was never completed.
The factory KTM racer started the race from sixth position on the grid, but he encountered a technical problem right away. As a result, he could hardly get off the line and was quickly passed by everyone.

Binder’s race ended right away, and he later offered the media, including Crash.net, an irate explanation.
“I’m at a loss for words,” he murmured.
I reached the beginning. I had a tiny clutch problem when I got off, so I was stuck.
“So, yeah, the story is over.”
Binder further on his clutch, saying, “It started slipping when I left.” Regretfully, it remained within.
“As soon as I tried to launch, it started to slip. It refused to release even though I tried to get it to.
“I attempted to return to the pits in order to switch bikes, but I was unsuccessful.”
Up until he stepped onto the starting grid, he maintained that everything was fine. I had a lot of trouble engaging neutral when I first got the grid. I felt like, “Oh sh*t.”
The bike was then clearly moving ahead on the grid at a slow pace. I knew what was going to happen.
“I did my best to remain on the ground and raise my hand in case I was struck, so that I would be more prepared for it. Fortunately for me, no one did.
Michael Laverty of TNT Sports explained what went wrong, saying, “They forgot to turn off fuel-save mode during the sighting lap.”
Regretfully, that has occurred previously.
“To avoid using fuel during the sighting lap, they entered a map. When they reach the grid, they ought to replace the race map.
With regret, Binder thought that in Silverstone, his KTM had found solutions to some of its issues.
“We turned things upside down this morning,” he remarked.
“We installed entirely new components that we hadn’t used in a long time, and I drove quickly on a medium tire.
We put a lot of effort into our tires in an attempt to improve our lap times because we spin so much. Our wear was hence excessive. It would not have been easy to have traveled the entire distance in excellent health.
