After a very promising start, when Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta showed very great performances, including podiums, KTM is not enjoying its finest year. The previous few races have been harder, though, and while there is currently some discontent, there are also certain certainties.
For a number of years, Binder has served as the primary representative of KTM in the MotoGP series. When asked about the team’s current state of affairs, he acknowledged that everyone finds it frustrating, despite the belief that it is a passing phase: “We try hard, no one wants to be where we are at the moment and it’s very frustrating not just for me but for my whole team or even the guys in management, and no one is happy with where we are.”
The South African clarified, “The only positive thing about this is that we will be in this moment for a long time, because no one wants to be there,” so there’s no doubt in his mind that we also need to focus on the positive, which is the very real feeling that the difficult times will pass soon. Because I believe we have a tiny fire blazing inside of us, I’m enthusiastic for what’s to come.
With Pedro Acosta joining Binder in the factory team after moving up from GASGAS Tech3, KTM will have a revitalized team once more. Meanwhile, Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini, two riders with proven credentials and experience, will join Hervé Poncharal’s structure.
