Despite finishing ninth in this weekend’s German MotoGP, Brad Binder is optimistic.
Binder expects that KTM Red Bull will be able to apply the lessons learned from the race in the future.
BRAND BINDER ACCEPTS HIS LESSONS.
Red Bull attempted to master the unusual layout in the ninth “stage” of the season. Brad Binder completed 30 quick laps to finish in ninth place, while teammate Jack Miller earned three points to finish in thirteenth.
Over the course of the three days of the ninth round of the current season, the Sachsenring presented Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and the rest of the MotoGP field with a variety of difficult conditions, including chilly winds, scorching summer weather, and ultimately overcast, cool asphalt. Brad Binder and Jack Miller took on the 3.6km course of never-ending bends for the 30-lap Grand Prix on Sunday, hoping to prolong the life of their premium tires and improve their positions of eighth and eleventh in the bright Saturday Sprint.
Brad Binder is unable to profit from the fast start.
Although Miller was as quick as Binder into the first bend, which was narrow and difficult, Miller had a stronger start. Brad began circling with Pedro Acosta and worked his way up to the top seven. However, on the final lap entering Turn 11, he nearly lost his balance and skidded off course, losing two positions and finishing in ninth place. Jack reached the flag in 13th place, limited by the capabilities of his rubber.
After a three-week hiatus, MotoGP will resume competition with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on August 1st. KTM will honor the championship’s 75th anniversary with a unique vintage livery.
For today’s race, Binder stated, “We made some big changes and everything was a bit easier to handle.”
“That was superior. Although there was a slight improvement in stopping power, there is still a need to locate additional since the individuals ahead of us were unmatched. In order to pick up a little extra speed and maintain it throughout the race, we gained some useful knowledge. I dropped two positions on the final lap after losing the lead down Turn 11. Not optimal. I am aware of my potential and our potential together. We are going to fight every session, no matter how hard it becomes.
THE AUTHORITY.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Francesco Guidotti: “This weekend was pretty unexpected.” It wasn’t to be as we had anticipated being in the lead group. Maybe we were too cautious on Friday, but at least today we gave the riders the greatest bike we’ve had all weekend. Even if today went quite well, it was insufficient. We lost too much time, but moving forward, we still have homework to complete and Pol [Espargaro] will be testing us the following week. Our goal is to be prepared for Silverstone.
