Brad Binder’s determined pursuit of maximum points helped Red Bull KTM Factory Racing finish in the top six at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands during the eighth round of the 2024 MotoGP world championship, the first of two Grand Prix events in a row. With 11th place, Jack Miller was able to finish the sunny 26-lap race.
Brad Binder finished sixth after showing more speed and grit than in his Saturday Sprint finish of sixth. In the championship standings, the South African is still in first place.

while pursuing the top ten. KTM Red Bull Watching Jose Antonio Rueda finish fourth in Moto3TM is Ajo’s best Grand Prix finish to date.
For the 75th Grand Prix to be held around the Dutch course, a sizable and devoted group of MotoGP fans descended upon the flat and iconic layout of the TT Circuit Assen, as is customary in this area of the world. Unlike Friday and Saturday, MotoGP was held in another “double header” with cold, cloudy weather.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing lined up in positions 9 and 14 on the starting grid, hoping to make their customary explosive escapes. Because of the track’s rapid and narrow trajectory, which required both stability and great agility for maximum speed, Binder was able to get the most out of the KTM RC16 package.
After deciding on soft tires, he powered his way into the mid-top ten and had to keep up his speed for the course of a drawn-out, tactical race. After a lonesome performance, the South African earned nine points for seventh place by the flag and was moved up to sixth after Marc Marquez’s suspension. Miller, who was satisfied with his ranking of eleventh, had made a respectable start from the fifth row and had acquired some confidence after a hectic battle for top ten consideration on Saturday.
Next week will see another Grand Prix at the Sachsenring in Germany, a track that frequently sees sell-out crowds and has a rich history dating back to the early years of the FIM World Championship.
Sixth placer Brad Binder: “It was a very busy race.” Although I thought there could be more possibility to go with the boys in front, we ended up burning the tire to keep up with their lightning-fast pace on the medium. That’s why I went with the soft rear tire. It was certainly tricky. Though I didn’t leave anything on the table, I would have preferred to have left with a better outcome. There is work for us to do. I don’t feel too bad. I am aware of the front restriction, and this past weekend I had no crashes. All we have to do is discover greater speed.
Better, Jack Miller, eleventh. We made progress last night, and I was able to run a little faster. I also had a good fight and felt more confident. We made a modification that improved my sensation with the bike’s front end, and I was pleased with that. We can start from this foundational level and, hopefully, look to improve things further.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Francesco Guidotti said, “We have some homework to do.” The weekend wasn’t too horrible overall. Considering the front tire pressure, Brad had a respectable Sprint on Friday in addition to a flawless Q2. We had rather greater expectations for him today, but he found it difficult to keep up with the lead group’s pace. We need to put in a lot of effort over the next several days and have some helpful information. Despite his status, Jack feels as though he is “back.” He was developing with the new setup, which was a significant departure from yesterday. One more small place where we can get back to zero. Next weekend, let’s attempt for more in Germany.
