After winning the 2024 MotoGP world championship, Jorge Martín was understandably pleased to have defeated two of his rivals at the top of their game, namely Marc Márquez and former champion Pecco Bagnaia.
“It was incredible to beat the best Pecco [Bagnaia] because he won 11 races (long races, on Sunday),” the #89 said on the championship’s official website, recalling how Bagnaia even had a season full of victories.
Regarding Márquez, Martín also spoke, demonstrating his complete belief that #93 was the greatest rider he could be, despite the fact that the bike wasn’t the newest and he didn’t have the same equipment. He still thinks that Márquez is the “best”:
“I believe Marc [Márquez] was at the peak of his abilities as well. He may not have had the best bike or had some parts missing, but it was still the best Marc, and I can guarantee you that he was at the limit, and I beat both.”
