Pedro Acosta, a rookie sensation who showed exceptional talent and class at the front of the RC16 from a young age, will be Brad Binder’s new colleague starting in 2025. The South African said that the style of riding of his future colleague shocked him. He stated that he had no “vote” in the decision to elevate him and feels that he may succeed as a factory rider.
Acosta entered the world championship in style and stood out despite the KTM riders’ lackluster recent performances overall. This caught Binder off guard, but in a good way, as he mentioned to MotoSprint, as reported by Motosan: “Pedro has been very competitive and extremely fast on this bike since the beginning.” His braking really astonished me.
In addition to the labor capacity he has shown, Binder notes that #31 has distinguished himself in one area: “He doesn’t brake hard, but he can stop the bike very well.” His work style and mannerisms in MotoGP have been outstanding thus far. Very pleasant to observe.
Binder gave a guarantee that he had no influence or preference over the KTM management’s choice to elevate the rider to the factory team: “I did not make this decision, but without a doubt he is a rider with a lot of talent who demonstrated a great speed.” And that’s always crucial to remember. He’ll do fine in this capacity.
