Since making his MotoGP debut in 2020, Brad Binder has been with Red Bull KTM, making him the rider with the longest tenure to date. Similar to KTM, he has won races and finished on multiple podiums, but he has never been able to challenge for the championship; his highest finish in the standings was fourth last year.
To the question of whether he thinks he can be the rider to lead KTM to victory, MotoSprint asked the self-assured South African, “Yes, of course, why not?” I’ve achieved respectable second places. Nothing will be able to stop us. We should be fine, in my opinion.
Binder has faced and defeated some of the competitors he now faces in MotoGP during his career in the lower classes, something he enjoys to see:
“Today in MotoGP, there are riders I’ve competed against my whole life. When I entered the top class, there were still Valentino Rossi, Andrea Dovizioso, and others who I saw racing for many years. However, today they’re just riders I grew up competing against, so everything is more «normal». And it’s very nice.”
